It’s hard to predict what will happen in the fitness industry in the future, especially when it comes to the New Year. There are so many changes that it takes a lot of work to keep track of what’s happening. For instance, while at-home spin may still be around, what about Hyrox or CrossFit?

To get a deeper look into what’s next, we spoke with a few of Men’s Health’s fitness experts and asked them what they think are the biggest fitness trends in the industry in 2023.

More Training

For many people, focusing on gym workouts can be a time-consuming process. However, having a couple of hours of home workouts is also beneficial.

Through the conversations that trainers have with their clients, they can better understand their daily routines, which can help them make more effective decisions.

Bigger Weights

One of the most important factors people can consider when it comes to making their training plans more efficient is taking advantage of the various features their facility offers.

In addition, strength training that involves heavy loads will be making its way into routines that are not typically seen. We’re seeing a trend toward combining various elements, such as weight training routines that combine mobility, meditation, and yoga.

Carbs are Coming Back

It’s time for you to fuel up with something more. According to our trainers, they’re seeing a resurgence of the importance of carbs as an energy source. It’s because carbs are one of our bodies’ first macronutrients to build energy.

The rise of DASH and Mediterranean diets has led to a shift in how people consume carbs. They’re no longer the enemy, and whole grains are making a return.

Holistic Training

In 2023, a balanced diet will be one of the key pieces that will make up a holistic approach to training. It’s not just about working out and watching what you eat but also about the mind and soul.

Although meditation has been around for a while, it’s expected that it will become more common in the future as fitness studios incorporate it into their routines. One of the most prominent examples of this is the Mind Body Project’s Breathe.Burn. Calm. class.

If you’re planning on adding a new fitness trend to your routine in 2023, make sure that it’s something that you can stick to.
